I was thinking Katrina, she's perfectly set up for it. If you ask me. Hmm...I didn't really consider her. I guess it's because she's played such a minor role until now, and even so, she's basically just a catalyst. If she is taken to Gallbatorix, she would certainly be in the perfect position to have the egg hatch for her. Gallbatorix might even try the same trick on her as he did with Murtagh, only this time it might hold out a little longer. Or Murtagh might not have been a liar, and Gallbatorix could have some way of getting a hold of people's true names. Then it would be a matter of, "-Katrina's true name-, I command you to fight and destroy Eragon and Roran," or something.

I had thought of the possiblility of Katrina becoming a rider.......thought it might be quite a stretch, but would balance the odds. I was thinking that she ( and the hatchling dragon)would somehow be rescued aftershe was exposed to one of the remaining two eggs....but before Gallbatorix gets his claws in her for good. Hmmmmmm

Okay. What I really wanted to find a thread on was, who else thinks that maybe Brom is Eragon's biological father? I've read over both books a couple of times. It hit me while I read a portion of Eragon again, where Angela is talking to Eragon in Farthun Dur about Brom's death ( and how she had made a joke about him when she read the dragon bones for Eragon in Tierm.) Then, at the end of Eldest, where Murtaugh is telling Eragon about Selena being both's mother. He says nothing about KNOWING that Morzan is both's father. Maybe that is the true reason Brom went in seclusion in Carvahall.....so he could watch over his son, Eragon.
