I'm going, the first day it comes out, screwed up or not! I just with Ed was brunette. Blonde looks kinda funny. Sappy is AMAZING! Did you guys see the trailer? Me: Dad, watch this trailer. Mom: I don't think I want her seeing that, honey. It looks really scary. Dad: WOAH! Look at that CGI! It's incredible! Mom: Honey? Dad: Emily (Me) can go. And I think I'll take her. Mom: Okay, but when she's up from nightmares, she's coming to YOUR side of the bed for comfort! NOT MINE!

I went to see it-with my dad and a friend, both of which have never read the book. *shudders* Christos, it was horrible. They didn't even give the elf pointed ears. The LOR people would have given the elf pointed ears. They would have put a werecat in, too. They would also have kindly NOT revealed that Arya is a princess, which i believ they did within the first 15 seconds of the movie. Now the second movie will be ruined! *wails in agony*.

There were a lot of strange things. I don't think that they're going to have a very good second one, if they do it at all - they didn't even set it up for the Blood-Oath Celebration in the second book.
The way Durza was killed was way out of the book. Although the shadow-creature he made was pretty cool (it shows up in the trailer, so it's not much of a spoiler).
The characters didn't look a whole lot like I'd imagined them:
Murtagh was pale, not at all like you'd expect some guy who can't go into a city for fear of being recognized and taken into custody. I expected him to be down in the dirt, tanned, and...dirty, gosh-darn-it! Tornac didn't show up, and I'd wanted to see how the creators interpreted Murtagh's horse.
Solembum didn't show up! *Cries* I loved him! I found him funny, telling Eragon not to pick up the zap-stick.
"Gently, he prodded it with his thoughts, trying to make it understand that he was a friend. "You don't have to do that." ;D
Angela looked a little weird, with all of the stuff jangling off of her. I wonder how she stood up - it looked like all she wore was metal.
No pointed ears...I thought that was just scary. After all, Eragon identified Arya as an elf because of her pointed ears. I guess it was just something that the CGI-ers forgot and the critics missed or something...maybe the critics hadn't read the book, and assumed that it was a trait of that specific world?
My friend and I both said that they really screwed up the movie in comparison to the book, but my dad said he enjoyed it. I think that the movie, however, would look better to the person who has not seen it - the same friend and I were picking out and complaining about the mistakes for two hours straight. << And we didn't even get to all of the complaints.

I still haven't gotten over all the blatant mistakes—like Zar'roc's blue gem, Eragon's being seventeen, not fifteen, Roran's leaving to avoid being drafted for the army, Brom's completely skewed character, and a thousand different mistakes. I think the only thing they got right was Saphira's voice and body—the scales were all the wrong shade of blue.

The actor choice for Brom was actually the only one I liked. He wasn't wrinkly and gnarled, but the way the actor portrayed him made it possible to believe that, at one time, Brom was powerful.
I didn't like Eragon's portrayal. He was just...too perfect. Brom beat him at swordplay, that's good, but after such a short time, he was powerful enough to catch one of the Ra'zac. I mean, he had just learned the word that day! And Brom mentioned in the book that, when a Rider first learns magic, they have to practically spell out what they want the magic to do. Eragon just shouted, "Branch!" in the ancient language, and down swoops a tree to catch one? He learned too quickly!
Another thing that bothered me for the second book: Brom killed one of the Ra'zac? Unless the king has a whole group of these things, instead of just two, that's another detail that's been messed up for the second movie.
Saphira's personality was a good one. I thought it was funny that, during their first flight (in which Eragon never scraped the skin off of his legs) Saphira kept saying things like, "You're being ridiculous!" whenever he fell off. I guess he was...

The part that i really hated the most was when eragon chucks Saphira into the air and she bursts into flame and becomes adult. Thye should have either put little sections of how much he had to work to hide her and get to know her, or they could have had him chuck her into the air, then the background changes or something, and eragon's wearing different clothes-so it looks like a period of time passed. Then they could have had fully grown Saphira come down and land. I could have made this better! And i'm still really annoyed about the elf ears. They should have had the LOTR people do it. The LOTR people would have given the elf ears.....*goes away, muttering to herself and stomps on the movie Eragon*
