A small lithe elf walked slowly through the hardly deserted forest. She loved to come out and just walk. She hadn't had a lot of time to though. She had been working on a very special project. Earlier in the year she had found a place that held information on how to make swords and armor. She didn't think she would need to color it though, since she wasn't a rider. But as she walked she longed to be one. She daydrempt about soaring over the trees and and talking with her own dragon. She listened to the sounds of the forest. The leaves rustling in the wind, the birds singing, as if it was just for her. She looked deeper into the trees she thought she saw a deer, but they weren't around quite as much anymore. She stoped for a moment. A beautiful white flower was hanging from a vine. She took it and felt the softness of the petals, her hands caressing it gently. She let it go back to where it was. Kayara started to walk again, but just as she did she tripped over a beautiful green stone. She caught herself before she fell all the way to the ground. She gently lifted the curious stone. What was it? She put it in her small pack. She could figure it out when she got back to her home. She turned away from the beautiful wood and headed back.

"What have you there?" inquired a voice from nearby. It belonged to what appeared to be a woman, her skin tan and her unkempt hair virtually white in color. He eyes were silver; pools that were deep and questioning as she watched the elf maiden from nearby. Of course, woman, appearing to be in her early thirties, was no ordinary woman. In fact, she was no woman at all! She was a werecat. Perhaps a more educated person would guess so: her teeth were pointed, and so were her ears.
And, one couldn't miss the distinctly feline look to her face, and the wild glitter in her eyes. "Something interesting?" she asked again, moving as if to get a better look, but never coming closer than a few yards.
Where had the woman come from? Had she always been there? Or had she just appeared... like magic?

"Oh my gosh!" Kayara squeeled. Where had she come from? "I'm sorry, you startled me, I..I hadn't realized that anyone else was here." She looked curiosly at the woman, or presumamably, a woman. "Exuse the intrusion, but ou wouldn't happen to be a wer-cat, would you?" She said with a sweet voice. "I don't belive we have met. I am Kayara, apprentice of Greenflow." She wondered if she should give her hand in an offer of a shake, or just let it sit.

"Oh my gosh!" the elf woman squealed in response to Maubynt's sudden appearance.
The werecat grinned broadly, her pointed teeth glinting faintly before they disappeared behind her lips again. The fact that Maubynt had managed to startle the elf amused her all the more, and this amusement was now constantly dancing behind her silver eyes.
"Of course you didn't," answered the werecat with a small shrug of her shoulders. Kayara's next question, however, seemed to slip right past the "woman," and so the 'cat merely smiled. "Wise-elf! I am Mau," she said with a mock-bow, her teeth revealed in yet another grin.
OOC| *winces* Sorry, that sucked...

OOC its OK mine wont be 2 good ether! IC"Oh, well then. What are you, a great were-cat, doing here gracing me, just a regular elf? " She questioned her, wondering if she would even get a response. She looked at her inquisitivly. Not even realizing that it was probably about her "rock". She turned towards the were-cat Mau.

Mau opened her mouth and laughed silently at the elf's response. It was then that the werecat decided she liked this one; she was funny!
The werecat tilted her head so that her platinum hair fell across her face. As usual, she didn't bother to move it, just grinned and looked through it. Then, straightening again, she made a purr-like sound in the back of her throat, her silver eyes straying to the pack where the egg had been placed. "I am a very curious individual," she said with a sly little grin, her eyes narrowing to slits. She didn't look unkind, but the affect was probably unnerving.
"What is it?" Actually, Mau already knew. She was just "toying" with the elf, wondering how far Kayara would actually go. "Do you even know?" she inquired abruptly, her grin growing, her eyes widening in amusement as she awaited a reply.

The were-cat Mau looked at her, almost in a funny way, though Kayara liked her, she was almost afraid to show it. It was almost as if the were-cat was like a certain wolf she was familiar with. But she smiled, "Well, I'm not exactly sure what it is." She took the rock and held it. Mesmerized by the beautiful greens in the rock she didn't want to look back at Mau. "I'm not sure what or who made this, but I do know it's not a natural sort of rock." She moved it around in her hands. It was actually very light. And it was almost warm. "let me guess, you know what it is, or what it's for? She smilde at Mau.

"Well, I'm not exactly sure what it is," answered Kayara as she removed the "rock" from her pack and held it in her hands.
Will it hatch for you? wondered Maubynt silently as she regarded Kayara with an amused smile. That smile became a grin as Kayara continued.
"Let me guess: you know what it is... or what it's for?"
Mau chuckled softly, placing her hands behind her back and leaning forward almost playfully. Her eyes twinkled. "Oh yes," answered the werecat easily enough as she stood up straight again, her head tilting. "I do, indeed," she said softly after a moment. "Great responsibility rests in your hands..." Mau said it with a mysterious lilt to her voice, her eyes distant, her smile gone. But it quickly returned as she looked at Kayara.

Why do were-cats have to be so confusing?! She looked at the strange but beautiful thing in her hands. Her eyes penetrating deep into its depths. She then felt something. She looked around her. Mau had not moved, so what could it be? She looked back at her prize. And it moved, again. She almost droped it out of shock, but managed to keep ahold of it. "Wha.. Whats happening?" Her yes became very large as she looked to the were-cat for guidence. But why would she do that? "Um, help?!"

Maubynt's eyes widened slightly, their silver color suddenly unreal as they caught any light in the area, and glittering, just as if they were the blade that was resting at her hip. Then, a small smile, filled with pleasure and amusement, formed on her face again, and she moved forward. She was just out of arm's reach when she stopped again, her eyes locked on the egg.
"Calm down!" snapped the werecat suddenly, her voice commanding. "Mrrr... it's all right."
The werecat was grinning broadly now, her eyes glittering, "You hold a little life in your hands. But soon, it will be much bigger. It will change your life forever." Mau took a step back, studying the elf's reaction, her face unreadable.

"uhh, mmm, eeep." Kayara squeeked. Could it be? A real dragon egg, of her own? She held tighter to the egg. Not enough to break it, but to hold it safely. Its shell cracked open a tiny bit, the dragon barely visible between the two cracks. She saw its tiny face. Her spirits soared. She was going to be a dragon rider. That is if the baby would survive. It had barely begun to come into the world, but she knew that something was wrong. From what she could see it was very small, even for a dragon. The shell looked to big for its shell. She looked at Mau with fear, had she noticed too?

The moment Mau had caught a glimpse of that tiny, olive-colored face, the werecat hissed softly. Her expression changed entirely. The happy, teasing, amused expression vanished, and was replaced with concern, even fear. But it quickly disappeared as the werecat looked up at the -- dare she think it -- Rider. This was wrong. A dragon could spend years in its egg, but this one was strangely small. Mau could not help but wonder how it had happened. Were the parents to blame? No. Surely not. ...something else. Her silver eyes had darkened and narrowed. The werecat could see the fear in the elf's eyes, and for once, the inhuman being that was Mau pitied someone. "Seek out the silver dragon," said the werecat, blowing air through her nostrils. "She can help you."...and why wouldn't Mau? Impossible to say. OOC| Yeah, I saw the other thread and couldn't pass that up... XD

OOC -lol- sorry bout the pp but you seemed amused... IC Kayara looked very concerned, dragons were not supposed to be this small, even when they were newly hatched. She looked at Mau, she gave her some advice. "Thank you for your, generous help." She said a bit sarcastically, "But could you tell me at least where to find this "silver dragon"? She looked at Mau hopefully. Her light blond hair had came out of her perfect pony, because of stress. It as now all astrew and in her face. She tryed to brush it out, but her sweat was makeing it stick to her face.
OOC Um, bad

Mau wondered if that was an order or a suggestion. Or maybe it was a favor? Hmm... the werecat would have wasted time, but a dragon's life was at stake, and if there was one thing the werecat was fond of, it was dragons. Oh, and elves.
The werecat looked at Kayara through eyes that were narrowed to mere slits, then, speaking quickly, she answered: "She is in the forest. Nearby. ...a grand dwelling, yes," said the werecat, her head beginning to weave back and forth like a snake's just before it strikes.
Her lips curved slightly: a smile. But it was not friendly or happy. It was strange and sad. "Ellesméra."

A wave of relief fell over Kayara like a blanket. She would now be able to save her dragon. BUt she couldn't keep calling him dragon. "Oh, thank you so much! You do not know how much I am in debt t o you. Me and...Tristan." She thanked Mau, with all she had. "Oh, thank you!" With out a formal dismisal she ran of to find a way to Elesmera
