Keahi blinked. "That was a...... joke...." She took another bite. "We could go right now. It's only about an hour's fight." Answered the rider, contemplating the smith. "Some of the greatest smiths in the world are there, and the old Riders' Blade Maker is looking for an apprentice.... She'd likely love to have you, although you might need to prove yourself. You'd be the first human Maker in history."

A FEW DAYS LATER Keahi flew back into Teirm after a good night's flight. Sílvrea landed in the mountains a ways from the city gates again, returning to the same clearing where she had waited last time. I'll wait here again, have fun. After a brief run down the mountain and through the gates, Keahi slowed to a walk as she made her way back to the small yet famed smithy. She stepped through the door and walked up to the counter. "Hey Kan. Have you finish the bow yet?"

"Oh, hey Kea. yeah its done, I just got it polished. Its in my office, let me go get it." Kanoa replied, getting the key to his house. He went in and got the bow out. When he came out he asked, "So, when are we leaving for Vroengard?" as he handed the bow to her.

"It's... Beautiful...." The gems had been placed with a perfection only a master smith could employ, and the silver seemed to flow like water across the bows ebony surface. "How much?"

"nothing. You're my friend, I don't charge friends," he said. "And thank you. I also made this." he said, removing a sword from A new sheath on his waist strap. the sword was made of a steel iron mix with a bright jade in the platinum pommel carved to look like a dragon with wings for the parts that spread out sideways from the handle. "Do you think it will be good enough to impress the maker?" Kanoa asked hopefully.

"I can't just take it for nothing. Here." Keahi placed fifty crowns on the counter, placing the bow in her quiver as she did so. "It's not much, but I couldn't possibly not pay you for the trouble." she smiled, but then he produced the sword, at which point her jaw dropped at the craftsmanship of the weapon. "It most definitely will, for a human of your age. She will test you though... Can you speak fluently in the Ancient Language?"

"of course, I study it as much as I can!" He replied. "So, when are we going?" he asked, putting away the sword.

"Right now. I'll have Sílvrea meet us at the gate, to save you a trip up the mountain." Hear that Sílvrea? I'll see you at the gate. I'm flying there right now.
"Well, come on. We're off to Doru Araeba." Keahi walked to the door and pushed it open, holding it for him to go through first. Once they had left the shop, the rider led the way through the city, past the gates, and straight into Sílvrea, who growled and shot a warning shot of flame at the unexpected follower, careful not to hurt him however.

Sílvrea released a surprised puff of smoke, then said directly to Kanoa, I apologize, I did not expect Keahi to bring someone else with her. Atra nosu waíse fricai.
"I'm sorry," Keahi said in an apologetic tone, "I forgot to tell her that I was bringing a friend. She's rather protective." She laughed at this, he had found that out first-hand. "Would you like to be tested when we get to Vroengard?" she asked, hoisting him up into the saddle at the same time and then pulling herself up in front of him. "There are still seven eggs awaiting Riders."
