The rush of the wind, to Kanoa Iolana there is no more welcome sound. He said to his dragon, "faster! this is amazing!" As they gained speed, he looked over the dragon's shoulder, watching the land pass by. eep! eep!eepeep! What was that?! he thought, It sounded like a bird! But that makes no sense... eep! There it is again! Im in the air racing by at the speed of sound, and I am hearing a bird!!! Am I crazy!? "I don't hear anything.".....EEP!EEEEP!
Kanoa woke up. He felt around, no dragon scales. It was just a dream, just a wonderful dream. "Darn it," he said under his breath, "Knew it was to good to be true." the blue jay chirped again. Kanoa got up, walked over to his desk and checked over some papers. He then walked through the door to his shop, took out the key, and locked the doorto his room. Kanoa went to the display window and flipped over the closed sign so that the "open" side was facing out, and unlocked the front door. He walked back to the counter and waited for the first customer.

Keahi flew into Teirm after a good night's flight. She had flown from Vroengard all the way to Teirm specially to see Kanoa, her old bow had become simply too weak for her, and she had heard about the human capable of making Urgle Horn bows. As a Rider, it had become barely noticeable that she was half-human rather than a full elf. All human—and Half-Elf—Riders eventually came to look like elves, and gain their physical and magical ability; her transformation had been completed just six months ago. Sílvrea landed in the mountains a ways from the city gates, finding a nice clearing where she could enjoy the couple hours her Rider would spend in Teirm. This looks nice, the dragon remarked. I'll wait here, have fun.
After a brief run down the mountain and through the gates, Keahi slowed to a walk as she made her way to the small yet famed smithy. She stepped through the door and walked up to the counter. "Hello."

"Hi, welcome to the Legend's smithy," Kanoa said the new customer that had just entered with out looking up from the long sword that he had just started to sharpen. He put the blade down and looked up. it was an elf-maid. 16 by the looks of her, hard to tell though. "how may I help you?"

"I would like an Urgle Horn longbow please," replied Keahi. She examined the famed smith. He stood at about five feet, his hair was a darkened blond. He seemed to have just got out of bed. He doesn't look the part of a smith at all. she commented to Sílvrea, who did not reply but simply sent a wave of amusement through the mental link. She reached up and brushed a few strands of dark brown hair away from her eyes, a flash of the silver gedwëy ignasia appearing for just a moment before any trace of her being a Rider dissipated.

Though brief, there was a silver sparkle on the customer's palm. "Carkna knurl hírna!" Kanoa muttered upon glimpsing it. "Argetlam," he said. "You're a dragon rider! I cant believe it, my first Dragon Rider customer. Come on, I have the perfect thing. Follow me." He then picked up the key to his house and unlocked the door.

Silently berating herself, for she had wanted to go unnoticed for what she was, Keahi kept her face friendly and spoke in the Ancient Language, "Eka aí fricai un Shur'tugal." With a smile, she followed him through the door into the part of the store that was his house.

"Sorry about the big outburst. Its just, I have always wanted to be a dragon rider myself." Kanoa apologized. "It must be so cool. So, Urgle horn long bow, custom, rider, or normal?" He asked. "It will take a while to craft it of course, so would you like breakfast?" He offered. He had not really had breakfast himself, so he thought it was the least he could do for some one who had flown all the way from Vroengard.

"Custom, and the Rider version please," replied Keahi. "Could you work these gems in, please?"–she tipped five silver gemstones and one imperial topaz into his hand–"And perhaps pattern it with silver?" To his question about breakfast, she nodded vaguely and said, "That would be nice, thank you. No meat for me, please. Although I'm sure Sílvrea would like it if I could get some venison for her."

"Ok," he said pocketing the gems "Would you like enchanted arrows too? They lock on target and wont stop chasing it until it has hit. I got them from an elf when he didn't have enough crowns to pay for a long sword. he gave me 20." he offered as he started to cook. "Oh, and would your dragon like the venison raw or cooked?" he said.

(Cook fruit and veggies? ) "I'll take them all." she answered, emptying her quiver of her currant stash of arrows. They were simple and made of pine wood, the feathers were from pheasants. All in all, the arrows were pretty cheap. "If it's raw, she'll cook it herself," laughed Keahi. "I'll get it for her cooked. She likes it really well done." Keahi cocked her head to the side slightly, watching the smith who did not look the part. "Are you really a smith, or does someone else craft the weapons?" inquired the Rider. "You don't exactly look the part."

"oeí, I am a smith. Trained by the carkna ingeitum rak Farthen Dûr," he replied. "I may not look it but I stayed in the varden for 11 years, 7 months, 2 weeks, and 3 days. I spent every second training, and eventually, I could craft one of these." he said, unsheathing his meithrial dagger, flipping it in the air and then giving it to her to look at. "say, I didn't catch your name." he then said.

"It's beautiful." Keahi examined the metal, it had the blue tint to it characteristic of the dwarves' favorite type of meithrial, and the pommel, handle, and hand-guard were of the blue metal cobalt. The only thing that stopped the blue from being complete and total was the ruby set in the pommel, which seemed unnatural against the deep blue of the cobalt. As she handed the weapon back to Kanoa, she answered his question. "Keahi. Keahi Brooks. I fight for Eragon."

"Well Keahi, breakfast is served." He said putting away the dagger and putting a two plates of pancakes down on the table and sitting down. " so Keahi, is it ok if I call you Kea?"

"Ah, yes, pancakes!" Keahi picked up her fork, speared a piece and shoved it in her mouth, savoring its flavor. She hadn't had pancakes since before Sílvrea had hatched for her.
She raised her eyebrows at the request. "Kea? That's not something I hear every day. Sure, nothing wrong with it. I can call you Kan then?"

"Well, all my friends do, sure." He replied. "Say, could you take me to Vroengard some time?"
